The New York police commissioner Raymond Kelly independently make amends to an elderly Brooklyn couple named Walter and Rose Martins for 50 door-pounding visits that police have done to the Brooklyn couple’s home for eight years. Raymond Kelly went to Walter and Rose Martins home last Friday with a gift: New York cheesecake. The Matins expressed appreciation and were able to show their grandchildren’s pictures. The story was first reported in New York Daily News. The door-pounding visits started on 2002 but most of the visits came in 2006 and 2007. The police used the Martins’ address as a random material test for tracking crime complaints.
