Kang Wannian told that he killed the rare tiger in self-denfense. Kang was sentenced to 10 years in jail for killing a rare animal plus 2 years for illegal posession of firearms and was also fined 480,000 yuan ($70,000). While four villagers who helped Kang in killing, eating the rare indochina tiger and for covering up, were sentenced for three to four years in jail.

Still this incident is so saddening. People should learn how to care and protect the animals. As much as possible we should not kill animals most specially those rare animals. We should preserve their lives in order for the next generation to experience having such kind of animals.
